Are they genuine Keihin PWK or knock-offs?

They have to be copies for that price
Lots of clear tubing freaks me out a bit
are they for vacuum I wonder?
Either way my 660cc subaru sambar also
has some shaft movement so this might be
what it needs after it passes inspection
again in the next few months.
Various sizes there but happy with 34mm-36mm

D I would think simply a complete used set off a equivalent size bike would be just as cheap.

Not many single cylinder bikes around 600cc
I need 2 x for a twin su manifold and thought
these are cheap and then theres my kei truck
660cc four cylinder could suffice with one.

They are not dailys just projects.

600cc one-cylinder needs 36mm carb
600cc two-cylinder needs 36mm carb
600cc four-cylinder need 36mm carb

See the "carb sizing" info from Weber. Because a four-stroke cylinder only draws once from the carb every four strokes, until you get more than four cylinders the number of carbs not need to increase

This is also why using four carbs doesn't make more HP than one carb. Works fine, just doesn't make more power. But what's that you say? Everyone know dual carbs make more power -- Yes, because of the individual tuned runners, not because of the number of carbs. You can use four runners connected to a plenum with one carb and it works out the same peak HP. Four individual throttle bottles may have slightly better part-throttle response and lower emissions. But certainly not needed for good performance and peak power

I have a 660cc L4 motor and an A12

was thinking the following....

1 x 34/36mm for the 660cc L4
2 x 34/36mm for the 1200cc L4

no arguments on carb hp theories or hp technicalities
not after any of that just trying to kill 2 crows with one stone.

eg. Use a cheap side draft carb to replace the one in my beach pig
which is also a side draft carb with a worn main shaft. Its an old
4wd subey sambar kei truck 660cc.

All kei cars in Japan have low height side draft carbs or throttle bodies for
clearance issues and manifold design under the cab etc. SUs tops are too tall.

Then would like to use 2 of the above cheap replacement side draft carbs
to go on a spare twin su manifold with no SUs for an A12 engine.
Its not necessary to go for bike carbs but is just a tinkering exercise
and in the end english SUs would be easier but fetch crazy prices here.

Finding something from a 600+cc bike would be best and have been trying
but not many single cyl bikes with single carb only the yamaha xr600 so
far and a couple of 650cc bikes. Pretty old things hence thought I could
prob try a 34 or 36mm carb and jet it to suit my needs.

Yeah 36mm is very big for a 600cc engine. Bikes which do 10k RPM can make use of it. Or a kei supercharged/turbocharged. For a naturally aspirated 660cc i'd expect it to work OK, but maybe have poor response or poor fuel economy at lower RPMs/lower throttle openings

The Datsun A10 in the Sunny Cab used a single 32mm bike carb (Mikuni BS32)

For a 1200cc 4-cyl A12 engine, 36mm is good for 8000 RPM naturally aspirated

good stuff with the sunny cab using a sidedraft thanks!

the en07 subey jewel revs to 9000rpm without a hitch
not game to take it to 10k rpm but has gone there with
a stuck throttle for about 5 seconds :( twice according
tom my aftermarket tacho and turning ignition off to
then readjust the cable and mechanism but no damage
so far so its quite a robust little engine.

its running a 2.23 inch supertrapp that sounds like a lumpy
bike due to shaft movement getting air in but when you
give it a squirt sound like a mad boxer race engine :)

The twin su manifold is an A14t unit and will modify
to suit either the 34 or 36mm carbs I get.
Still searching the auction sites.

Chinese knockoffs better to use second hand genuine bike carbs and CV vacuum type will be more forgiving, Just remember with CV carbs the idle and main air jet sizing is critical to good performance and driveability.

Many do not have replaceable idle air jets I use Yamaha Banshee quad idle jets for which I have the appropriate tap and then drill them to suit, The banshee runs fairly small idle jets and having modified and jetted many banshees I have many spare stock jets to modify and they will fit most CV carb air jet holes.
Then there is Emulsion tubes main jets pilot jets main air correctors needles etc to work with so more like jetting webers than Su type carbs springs are hit and miss as not listed as options and have to be sourced from other CV carbs but when dialed in work extremely well as a weber replacement.
Then again bike throttle bodies and a megasquirt will be always preferred for ultimate driveability and performance
