guys wanting to move trail bikes, surfboards and the like, even the person looking for a cheap second car for that weekend trip to the tip.

1. My trail bike would not fit on it
2. Surfboards fit perfect on roofracks
3. at 15000 bucks for its ugliness yes that trip sounds right.
p.s. nothing comes close to the 1200 ute well, except for the previous 615kg 1000 ute.

Looks kinda like a small commodore ute to me.
Don't think it is too ugly. But hey, it is FWD.
Therefore your 1200 ute is greater than it.

It's also heavier than your car. And I think that your car is actually appreciating in value, rather than the depreciating that these will do.

I think they look nice. I was thinking "I wouldn't mind one of those" ... until I got to the part about front-wheel drive.

Ute fever is starting up in the USA. But strangely they are all four-doors: Chevrolet Avalanche, Ford Explorer Sport-Trac, and just this month, the new Subaru Legacy Baja. Oh, and we have no word for them. Are they "trucks"? Are they "cars"? They are not called utes here, and no word has been coined even though they've been made off and on since the '58 Ford Ranchero.

Sorry fella's but I like 'em. Sometimes I think it would be good to have a more modern little ute, mainly when my "Plain Jane" gives me the ####s.

But for $15,000 au + I will stay with the old girl I guess. As I've seen some 1200 ute's much much worse than mine sold for a heap !! But even if I got $4,000 for for mine I would need to find another $11,000 + on road cost etc. Would be better off spending a bit of cash on Jane.

$15,000 ... but if you can just fill 'em up down at the billabong, you'd save on petrol costs.
