Yes, This question has always intrigued? me. when thinking about heat being radiated outwards, what the f%@k does the outside surface colour have to do with it ?????
I think its' an old wifes tale..
It might be that a painted surface has more surface area (at a microscopic level) but surely, any covering acts as a thermal insulator??
