The FUZZ [remember them] aren't stupid. If they encourage the race in an overt way, & you can demonstrate it, that will screw up the whole operation as everyone else that got pinged can claim the same thing.
I have never heard, first hand, of this happening. However, if you are racing, & you offer to race an undercover car, he can persue you & ping you from behind. They know that you will push it harder if you are JUST in front, because they know that you want to stay there. Why were you going so fast officer? "Well, your Honour,.. i was in..... "persuit"
You won't win.
As for MadTimo, if there is an 80K section of road that they are pinging people on, then drive at 79K. Alternately, If you A. Know that they are there on a particular day, & B. You have at least half a dozen mates available, [the more, the better] then C. Get them all together & drive along this section of road,.........at 25k,...... in second gear. Wear a serious racing expression giving 100% concentration to the road ahead. Racing gloves & helmets are optional. To drive the point home, have the tail ender overtake in a desperate passing manouver,.....at 26k. You can award peer points for facial expression. The one with the expression closest to your favorite racing hero's when he is mixing it in the front bunch, is the winner.
It's not a crime as the speed limit is a MAXIMUM one, not a minimum one, & it can be fun. We did it in the Canberra area back in the late 70's & early 80's. It saved a few other drivers from getting pinged. Needless to say, this should be done in front of your appreciative audience of one or two uniformed viewers. Make sure that none of the cars is a visual moving violation also.
