The turbo seemed to be in great shape when I pulled it off a few weeks ago. The car only has 72,000 km on it and it had a turbo timer on it when I bought it. All the fluids were beautifully clean too. I agree that a roller bearing turbo will fix the lag...that's for sure! My brother is selling me his S15 turbine (T28 roller bearing) for my car, he's putting down about 250 hp at the wheels with it. Yeah I already got the 3 inch mandrel exhaust and no cat (test pipe), just need to get an intercooler kit, boost controller and fuel controller (SAFC) and the horsepower would jump considerably.
I'm not really let down by the dyno run at all. With that automatic and stock everything besides exhaust and air filter I think it's exactly where it should be. I plan on doing another dyno run after swapping out to the 5 speed manual. I've always wanted to see what kind of difference it makes. Sometime after Feb. 14th I'll do the swap and dyno run. I'm going home to the US (finally!) for a couple weeks and I'll get to work on and drive my Buick which I miss a lot. Nothing else compares to over 500 ft/lbs of torque starting below 3000 rpm! Can't wait to feel that power again!
