I have exactly the same year model ute as you. I introduced an A14 without any mods at all. The A15 will also slip in without any mods either if you want to go a slightly bigger engine. However the A14 is better to work if you are thinking of doing some improvements to it at a later stage.
I replaced the A12 head onto the A14 block which you can do so easily then the extractors will definately fit and you will also up your compression.
At the end of March I'll have a fully supercharged A14 that I will post some pictures of that you can have a look at.
