I have observed that on many occasions, it's not people that have trouble with unreliable cars,.... it's cars that have problems with owners that will not maintain & / or drive them properly.

If it's broken, or about to break, then repair or replace it. If it has a finite service interval [like points] then adjust or replace on the due date / mileage, & any car will be reliable.
