Alternator Wiring Woes

Running an A12a. So the alternator is on the driver's side now. My problem is my charge light stays on. I think I now have an internally regulated alternator. Using a Mitsubishi one. My question is I have the charge wire, the earth and the light wire, what is the other wire? Will this turn off my charge light? The only eleccy tool at my disposal is a test light. No multimeter.
