Im just going to speak from personal experiance.. i have had around 5 cars that have had locked diffs, all when i was younger, all street driven on a daily basis and i wouldnt do it again.
Despite what everyone says, they do wear your tyres, are dangerous in the wet, regardless of driver skill... snap axles, puts massive load on bearings/bushes/wheel studs etc and are generally a pain in the arse to drive around town! If its just a weekend hack then you could probably deal with it, but for something i drive on the road give me an open center anyday (or LSD if funds permit)
And have you ever tried pushing a car with a locked diff off the road? lol its no fun
