From your description, you are the only one who is actually running a locker. A Detroit Locker. All the others seem to be locked diffs.
The "click click click" is a characteristic of the Locker & it takes a particular style of driving to use one, but they do have their advantages, & legality is one of them. So is the ability to go round a corner without scrubbing the crap out of the tyres. The positive locking guarantees locked drive when you need it. That sure beats the crap out of welded diffs on the street.
