don't mind me, I don't understand the point of alot of things... burnout comps, decibel drags, drifting, synchronised swimming, that part of gymnastics in the Olympics where they punce around with ribbons and stuff... So I'm not a drifter - not that there's anything wrong with that.
but there are obviously plenty of people out there who like each of those things, and if you like drifting, go for it. As long as you're not doing it on the road or in public areas.
But its not motorsport. Rallying, speedway (dirt oval track), motorkhana, autocross, khanacross are forms of motorsport, where the point of getting the car sideways is to get through the corner/course/stage as fast as possible to get the best time. That's the difference, and that's where the real skill is. Drifting is just about having fun, looking good, and hanging the tail out for as long as you can - its not motorsport. If people were ballroom dancing on an athletics track, its not exactly the Olympics is it?
