My mum lives near a high school, and every wet day all the punk kids from it peel out at three oclock. (screwing the arse off their stone cold engines) Only because their sh1tbox cars can't do it in the dry. I'm sure they mean no harm, but after a while you get sick of the noise. Threre is a rest home across the road, and another one two doors down. Having to see out your final years in a home putting up with that racket would be a form of torture. When I was younger and still living there, my mates and I used to make heaps of noise. Blotting out the street with tyre smoke, revving the hell out of rotories, revving up V8s with little or no exhuast at all hours of the day and night. But know I'm "grown up" and know better. People who live on busy roads must go insane from the automotive ruccas, and even more so in the wet. I once parked my mums car on it's roof in a river , on a wet snowy day ( we had to swim out the windscreen which broke when we rolled) so now days, I have respect for wet weather. If you have ever had a crash, and wished afterwards that you hadn't done whatever caused it, then don't lose sight of that feeling when the roads are wet. Driving sensibily is MUCH easier that un destroying your car, or unhurting/unkilling one of your mates or someone else. If you can't (or wont) participate in a legal event, then be sure that if something goes awry noone is going to get hurt. And don't underestimate what a good datto can do. A mate of mines cousin won a burnout comp with a tweaked 1400 and a locked diff in a 1200 sedan. He beat V8s and all! even though he overrevved and broke his flywheel bolts. If you are going to play the fool on the steet, keep your brain in gear at all times.
