I think the old one is packing it in. After 1st and 2nd gear changes at 6500rpm at 100km/h in 3rd it starves its arse out. Just started happening in the past few weeks and when i put the fuel pipe into a bottle it came out pretty slow.

Of course you could always make sure that the fuel filter is not partly blocked. Try fitting a new one, after all, they are cheap, readily available, & easy to fit.
The symptoms you describe can be caused by the filter & you will kick yourself if you buy a new pump & it doesn't fix the problem.
