or you could rebuild one to std specs with just some ACL pistons (or hyper-eutectics) and good moly rings and run about 5mL of neat molybdenum in the oil - that puts a thin (like 0.2thou) hardened coating on all moving parts to protect them under "duress" L series bottom ends are pretty tough things.

draw thru superchargers (like the good ol' SC14) work well and are cheap. draw thru factory turbos are prob a bit more again and then you could look to delco EFi and factory turbos and top end $$$ would be BB turbo, ext wastegate with aftermarket EFi. but it all depends who you know!

then it'll take all the pounding you can throw at it - if you're not stupid about it.
