one of my manifold studs is knackered, and i want to put a heli-coil in but not sure on the process

can i just drill it with a hand drill or does it really have to be done with a press?

i was thinking of just loc-tite but theres only about 2 threads left in the head, and the stud already has rattled out (without loc-tite in)

whats the story with these heli-coils, or should i loc-tite and hope?
