I would suggest using Spacers on the speakers.
One can get these spacers ready-made from a car audio store.
They are normally made out of plastic, and is not expensive at all.
Unless you want to DIY with a few plywood boards.

These spacers will make the back section of the speakers sit very little inside the doors, thus preventing water damage.
The spacers will also help in preventing the speaker touching the window winding mechanism.

Having put 6x9 on the door panels will make your UTE sound like a Mobile-Disco itself, thats if you dont mind damaging the door pads.
