I was suprised myself when he said he did the conversion for 4 grand. I doubt that would have included his strut, brake and diff setup.

I have just forked out 550 bucks for a c210 skyline strut and honda 10" disc setup and theres alot of other bits and pieces i have allready bought. Like stanza lower controls, 120y swaybar,
landcruiser 4 spots, all new rubbers, stnza castor rods. And theres more to come like springs, shocks, 14" wheels and tyres. So it all adds up!!! This setup will cope with a Ca18det for
sure - Andrews setup is similar. So add at least another 2 grand for the front end (if u want a good setup) as 4 grand would cover the CA installation for sure.

Thats just my guess anyway. I've never done a turbo coversion myself but have helped a mate fit an FJ into a 1600 and that cost him nearly 8 grand to setup - including struts, brakes, diff,
car itself etc....

As for the SR vs CA conversions, i think theres eqaul amount of difficulty. SSS and datspeed wouldnt make anything for a 1200 as there not as popular as 1600's. But im sure making up new
mounts to suit a CA or SR isnt too hard. Just need a case of beer, an angle grinder, a few bits of steel, some measuring and a MIG.
