last year was roberts first time ever in a racing. he picked the 1000 because no one else up here has done one , andtrying to develope the car and him has been slow. chassis developement is hard working with a transverse front spring and getting all the power to the road. you and craig have had more time at it hope fully this year we may get a handle on it.very small buget.
that is a valid point. The car doesn't really seem to exhibit any real handling vices though...
Anyway good luck with it this year. I'll look forward to seeing it drop a few seconds of those times.
If you had a look at Craig's car or my car, you'd realise that we're all in the same boat regarding the budget, and we've all developed our suspension ourselves over the years - the tinkering is a big part of the fun.
I can recommend a very good and very reasonably priced race suspension specialist on Brisbane's northside if you're interested. I'm sure he wouldn't charge more than $50 to pop it on his aligner and have a good look at it to see what's what, and if there are any obvious problems with the setup. wheelbases (L & R), roll centres, ackerman, and basic camber and castor settings, and identify any bumpstop or other binding problems etc. PM or email me if you're interested.
I'd be happy to have a look as well, and give my 2c worth on the handling issues. I used to own a 1000 coupe, so I'm pretty familiar with them.
