Cable ??????
There should be no cable
It should be hydrollic (cant spell)
If the box has been modified to use a cable then I assume this is the problem.
Ring the person you bought the car from they might be able to help you out.
When you say its heaps smooth when yours selecting a gear is that compared to when it was playing up on the rainy day or compared to when you first got the car?
