coils arent meant to get too hot eg too hot to touch, if so its possible the one ure using is wrong for your dizzy. if you can get your hands on a Bosch product book with Coils in it, you can look up the N12 pulsar or find one to match your particular dizzy. The N12 coils are the same ones as used in some older Subaru models. I can get the numbers off mine if u want, as this is what John Cane did to my car and it has worked perfectly since.

rebuild cost me 2grand (incl headwork) and i was happy to upgrade from points/JayCar HEI kit to the cheap N12 dizzy.. although i was this -><- close to sending feral my bluebird dizzy.

(still planning on doing it one day though)

for now its in a friend's rusting datto 1600.
