i know what i'm talking about when it comes to 1UZFEs - not about putting 200B calipers onto Stanza struts though!
look, the buick V6 is a good engine. as is the rover V8. but that the end fo the day, they are monster torque producers even if they make (comparitively) lesser outright power figures.
but in NA form ,the V6 is less than lacking and the rover V8 revs well but just doesn't produce the goods - regardless of how they perform on paper.
the 1UZ can give you both - monster torque when boosted and massive power - without having to open the engine. they have 190kw from the factory and about 350Nm of torque - in NA form. one can only imagione what difference an M90 / MP112 eaton or a big turbo will do.
the 1UZ is more serviceable as well. ALL gaskets are multilayered steel gaskets - ie you don't have to replace them everytime you pull the engine apart - and the whole engine comes apart like lego.
they have 3 different sump positions (front- LS400, centre-crown and rear-SC400/soarer) and a remote oil filter as standard. getting my remote filter changed to hose tail barbs with hi-temp oil line cost me $AUS114. makes chaging the filter easier and it was the only way i could fit the engine.
FWIW, i'm currently building a twin turbo 1UZFE.
it was my pick over both the rover V8 and the GM V6 - all three being plentiful here in OZ.
