I used Desktop Dyno 2000 for a while. I thought it was good until Feral put me onto Engine Analyser Pro.

Really, Desktop Dyno is a toy program that draws pretty graphs. There just isn't anywhere near enough inputs in desktop dyno. For example: in DD you define your intake port by selecting one from a small bunch designed to work for every type of engine. Compare this to EAP where you input port size and length, the taper ratio and half a dosen other things.

If you want a rough idea, sure use DD. If you want to really know whats going on and tune your engine so that everything is working together (cam, intake, exhaust, etc) then EAP is the G-O!
