It sounds like something is wrong with the choke. It shoudn't take 1/2 hour to come off the cam, it should take about 5 minutes max.

Is the electric wire hooked up to the choke? Make sure it has 12v or so when running.

To make the choke come off sooner, turn it clockwise:Quote:
Automatic Choke Adjustment. To adjust the automatic choke, slightly loosen the three screws holding the round part. Rotate it counterclockwise for more choke, clockwise for less. The nominal setting is on the middle mark (see photo above).

If you turn it clockwise enough to make it work fast enough, but then it doesn't close all the way when cold, the spring is probably worn out. Take the choke off, and see if the metal spring coil inside is flimsy. You may need to replace the choke cover. Just get a new one.
