There were basically three stages of A14 motors. 70-HP, 80-HP and later 81-82 years 65-HP models. I have seen 75-HP and 78-HP models also, here in America. There were numerous high performance engines that did not state the HP ratings on the firewall tags. The alternators are the same for all models but some are 35 Watt and some are 65 Watt. If you have a few add on electricals, it is best to use the later IC-regulated alternators as they are 65 Watts and require no voltage regulator mounted on the firewall or fenderwell.
