Do you know what you are removing, what it does, why it is there, & what effect it will have if it is removed?

If not, then tread carefully as you could be robbing performance instead of increasing it. Buying a workshop manual that relates to the engine that you have will go a long way towards avoiding mistakes.

You get cortradictory posts when people write in with advice on subjects that they know little or nothing about. The 'book' knows all.
