Have a look at ANY underhood shot of a LHD 1200 & you will see two master cylinders. One is obviuously for the clutch.

The five speed was not available in Australian models, so they are all imported from various countries. If this gearbox has a hydraulic clutch, then it has come from a country where the hydraulic clutch was used.
All Australian models had cable clutches.
