One of the nice things about the 1200's gasoline tank is that it has a drain plug. Get two shallow buckets and a couple of 5-gallon buckets, and drain it dry. Then pour some of the clean gasoline back in to flush the tank.

You can carefully pour gasoline from one bucket to another and discard the junk or water in the bottom of the bucket.
