In the states, all our Datsun 1200s have run unleaded since around 1989. I see no valve seat wear in any of the engines I've torn down.

In 1974, Nissan changed the valve seat material, presumably for unleaded fuel. In 1976, Calfornia models had a catalytic converter, so required Unleaded. They didn't change the valves or seats that year.
