You can use a vacuum guage to set the idle mixture.
Leave the idle running just a bit faster than stock for a couple of thousand K's untill the engine starts to free up a bit. This helps to keep the fan & water pump spinning freely & this helps keep the oil spraying around inside & helps to reduce the loads on a fresh cam. [if fitted]

If you get yourself a workshop manual, it will show you how to do all the adjustments properly, & in the right order.
