Hi mate.. did you know you need to sell the plates with a car?

You have never been allowed to sell regular plates on their own in NSW. The RTA owns them. Only Custom and old Numeric-only plates can be sold. And even then a large exchange "tax" is applied, depending on the number of numerals. I think a NSW plate with numbers 1 to 9 will set you back over $300,000 in government tax on top of the purchase price.

Kind of spoils your plans I'm afraid.
