ok, i'm replacing an old lucas alternator which looks to be an internal regulator (on a car that's supposed to have an external regulator)

anyway, the new alternator is an external regulator, and that shouldn't be a problem except for the fact that there's NO "E" (earth) wire coming out of the alternator subharness

so, does that mean the internal regulator alternator didn't need an "E" connection or ???

most important, assuming i must wire my own "E" connection, where should it be grounded to?
