i have an standard radiator (just got a fine core put in it) with a 16" thermo.

this keeps it very cool. if you are having heat problems you should flush out the radiator. if you put a bigger radiator than what you need you moter might not run as good (running to cold) also you would add uneeded weight to the front of the car
