Very very true.This is not so much the case in a road car but in a race car.

Look at pro stock cars they rev them to 8900 on a dyno but on the track they take them up to 9400.That 500 more rpm 1/2s the life of the spring.

Thats why alot of cars run spring oilers.(This is plumbing system where there are jets that put oil right on to the spring)
