What's the problem? Some time back I drove from Pyramid Hill in central Victoria into Melbourne. Then visited some friends there, followed by a trip straight through to Port Maquarie NSW, stopping only for fuel.
That was back in '86 & the roads are a lot wider, straighter & smoother now.
Total distance, over 1,700k [about 1,060 miles] in one day in a basically stock '73 model 1200 Ute with original seats, no aircon, but with AM radio, & original rear springs with no load in the back to soften the ride.
It CAN be done.
If you plan for a two day trip, your smooth ridin', fast travelin' & comfy seated Ute should have you there all cool & refreshed, & at the event in plenty of time.
