Hey guys. My Datsun 1200 just arrivedfrom California! But I am coming across a little problem and I'd like to know if anyone out there can help me figure out this little problem.
It looks like this car had not been started in a while.
The motor turns over, the stater was no good, so I replaced the brushes and now i got it to crank. But when I checked the oil, it was kind of thick and appeared to have a caramel color. Could this be because it was sitting for a while, or it may be that it mixed the oil and water?
I took the oil cap off, but it does not have that caramel color on it. I drained this old oil and will be filling it back up with clean oil.
I do not want to rebuild it because I do not have the money for it.
Thanks in advance.
Gerry
