Id say remove the gaurds, cut a piece of sheet metal to the right size and if you don't have a mig or tig take it to an exhaust shop or something so it can be welded in place and im sure they can do it in like 10mins. Then when the patch is welded in apply some bog and smooth it out. I like to stay away from fibreglass its some nasty ####
