Have a little play with this tyre size calculator/ comparitor. The diameter of the original 1200 cross ply tyre was about 575mm. The closer you can get to this figure, the less dramas you will have with rubbing on the footwell, restricted turning circle & rubbing on the upper edge of the guard.

These wheels are 5-1/2" wide with good offset & there are quite a number of people who use them to good effect.
From a cost & effectiveness standpoint, they are a good choice.
