The two Hitachi V.V. carbs each have their own choke mechanism, so an original type dual choke cable would be required to make it work.
Some late model [A14 GX?] carbs have electric chokes & if these are fitted, & in serviceable condition, are to be embraced as another step forward in carburettor technology.

I used a 1600 or 180B SSS cable in my 1000 sedan & it even took the original 1000 choke knob, but the 1200 knob is different.

At a pinch, you can use a single cable onto a single carb for starting enrichment. The engine will run roughly for a while when only one carb is supplying the richer mixture, but it will run just fine once it gets a little heat into it. Make sure that you do not block off the coolant flow through the inlet manifold as this is necessary to provide manifold heat for proper operation on the street.
