no thats different...in NSW you can have special rego which enables you to drive your car to events and to mechanics etc etc. You dont need blue slip or even rego plates. You have to sign a disclaimer to say your car is roadworthy...but if you get pulled over by the cops, and it isnt, say you have a locked diff etc etc then you will be fined.
Easiest way is buy a car trailer and tow it around...seriously....
