yeah I knew you were joking mate. And I don't want to give the GTR away
It's definitely harder to work on - the engine bay is pretty full like most modern cars, but its been very reliable. the only issues I've had were a TPS, a CV boot, and a leaking rear subframe bush at Bathurst 2005 just after I bought it.
The engine is basically standard, with standard ceramic turbos and standard boost. Only engine mods I know of are those it came with:
Mines ECU
Bee*R powerbuilder BOV's
3.5" HKS SuperDragger exhaust
HKS pod filters
it goes better than most mild GTRs and handles very well - got that the 3rd outright at Bathurst Mountain Straight Hillclimb against those more powerful GTR's that beat me the day before on Conrod. And its faster than alot of heavily worked STi's and Evo's at Mt Cotton. Its also beaten some of the top 5 Dutton guys in the QLD Challenge rally when I was only on the Federal 595s against their semi slicks. And that was before the suspension tweaks I did at the start of the year with the adjustable upper arms in the front, offset bushes in the rear upper arms, alloy subframe alignment kit, more aggressive geometry and the wider wheels.
I'm not sure the clutch is anything fancy. When I was test driving them, this one felt like it took a bit more pedal effort and was more positive than the others, but I doubt there's anything flash behind the stock engine.
Anyway, have a think about it - I'm pretty keen on the idea even though I'd miss out on the extra cash that would have been useful.
