Yes 1200s came with a manual trans and the clutch setup is a mechanical cable operated type.
To expand on that, right drive cars had a cable operated clutch while left drive ones had hydraulic clutch operation.
All of the small Datsuns had manual transmisions, but there were three different sizes.
Datsun 1000 & 1200 used the 56 series gearbox.
Datsun 120Y & Sunny models with A12 engines used an improved version called the 56A
The Australian Sunny sedans & coupes came with the A12.
In Australia, A14 & A15 engines in passenger models used a stronger 60 series gearbox. Most Sunny wagons came with A14's & late build ones had A15's
Some models in the US used an even stronger 63 series gearbox. This was the gearbox size that was used behind the larger L series OHC engines, but in this case there was one with a cast on bellhousing that fitted the smaller A series engine. Quite rare here & it uses the hydraulic clutch, which is a pain.

If I remember rightly, your B310 would be known as a 120Y in Barbedos which probably means that it has the A12 engine.
As far as I can tell, the 56A trans was used behind the A12, A12A [USA only], & the short stroke A13 that was used in the B310 [Asia only]
I do not know what was used behind the long stroke A13 that was installed only in the USA version of the 1974 B210.
