As long as you have a correctly sized turbo, response shouldnt be too bad which ever way you go. As for the dump valve for the amount of boost you are going to be running it wont really be an issue, I have heard in VERY high boost applications that it can shear blades off the compressor wheel with compresssor surge but this is only for huge horsepwoer motors running ludicris boost levels.
