I have a set of Dellortos that I am in the process of fixing up and installing at a later stage. I would like to ask if you can find out why everyone prefers Dellortos?
Almost all dattos on this site runs Dellortos although I don't like them very much.Reason is that the pair I have has wear on that little arm that goes between the two throttles down to the actuator pump arm. Apparently this is normal wear on Dellortos and Webers don't have this wear. Also I tend to struggle finding chokes, jets, etc for Dellortos while Webers are more plentyfull.
Ask the guy why Dellortos are preferred as I would rather go Webers as they don't have such a wear problem like the Dellortos.

What has been done to your engine as almost all the guys here said that it is a waste of money to put such carbs on a standard engine.
