Sounds like you've dropped a valve.
Might be good to pop the rocker cover off and check to see if they're all still sitting up.
if they are, take the rocker shaft off, turn the motor 90 degrees past TDC, then smack each valve with a SOFT faced hammer and make sure it goes down and up properly.
If thats all good, it might be something in the sump getting between the crank and the block somewhere(broken fuel pump lever, peice of piston skirt), or a bent rod or really badly cracked piston crown.
