Hi guys I've finally figured out how to put disc brakes onto a strutless datsun 1000. Its not as hard as I thought. I've used late model 120Y hubs and discs (219mm in diameter),
which slide straight onto the 1000 stub axle. I got some GE (Chrylser) Sigma front calipers and caliper mounts. Then weld up 3 of the 4 mounting holes in the caliper mount and
redrill the 4 holes so they fit onto the 1000 stub axle ( using the old drum brake as a template to drill the holes ). I also have to machine about 2 mm off the heads of the 4 bolts
that hold the caliper mounts onto the stub axle. too easy! :) took me a loong time to figure out though !

James.
