Here's my advice:

1. Don't change it. They rarely go bad. However, if after measuring, it doesn't meet specs, then by all means change it

2. Get out a repair manual and read up on the process. The Factory Service Manual, Greogory's, Haines, etc are all equally good for timing chain. Photocopy or scan a print a copy of the specs page and the alignment diagram and tape it to the bonnet while you do the job
