hilux is 30 spline and tough as. has 8" ring gear. lots of good ratios. lots of lsd and lockers avail.
BUT if you want it close to std datto 1200 width you run into the problem that the axles neck down after the spline. right where you want to cut the new spline. if your taking more than approx 80mm per side (small tubs or v deep offset wheels) your back into the fat bit i am about to do one and im considering using ford ends on the lux housing and resplining some 9" axles borg warner 78 (skyline commo ford etc.)is probably easier but i want a drop out center so i can have a spare pumpkin with different gears in it. dazza pm me if you go ahead and let me know how you went
