Howdy,
I don't know what diff is in my 1200 Coupe.
So I thought the collective brains trust of the Datsun 1200 forum might be able to help me.
I'd like to get some spare axles in case I twist one but it is a bit hard when I don't know where to start.
The housing has been modified and I can't find any serial or part numbers stamped on it.
The drum brakes have been replaced by disc. So looking at what the pads fit does not help
(120Y fronts)
I have looked at the diff centres I have and they don't seem to have any helpfull info stamped on them.
What I do Know is:
stamped on the crown wheels are
Diff 1
B37:9 EBL 859
37:9 is the ratio (4.11:1) but what does the EBL 859 mean?
Diff 2
HC39:8 CJ 1323
39:8 is the ratio (4.87:1) But what does
CJ 1323 mean?
Diff 3
B35:9 CQ 626
35:9 is the ratio (3.88:1) But what does
CQ 626
One of the centres has Datsun C20 van painted on it.
What I would like to know is what it is . . .
eg H165
what other ratios are avaliable . . . .
eg 4.65:1
and what cars they where fitted in.
Not asking for much am I . . . .
Here are some photos of one of the diff centres and the diff mounted in the car.
Thanks and any help will be greatly appreciated
Cheers,
Geoff
