Yes there is!
The OD of the L series input shaft is bigger than the OD of the A series spigot bush. So even with NO bush, the input shaft still wont fit in the end of the crank.

Providing the bloke doing the turning knows what he's doing, a lathe works fine. Christ, if anyone need one done I can get it done for you.
