Salvage could mean that the car been wrecked, or had a minor fender bender or scratch in the paint that the repair cost more than the car itself (over $500.00)according to insurance companies, insurance doesn't see it as a collectible car, they just the cost of repair versus value of vehicle, or in my case, the vehicle was purchased at a police impound yard (not me)due to previous owner wasn't able to take vehicle out of impound. Or if a vehicle is bought at a junk yard, it becomes Salvage.
